Janja Prokić’s collection Eiréné is inspired by Herman Hesse’s 1918 short story “Iris,” in which the titular flower represents a gateway to the soul, a path to one’s own personal truth, and the courage to not let oneself be bound by the expectations of the outside world. “What spoke to me most was the idea that we should let into our lives only the things that resonate with our inner world and will blossom within it,” says Prokić. The collection bears the name of the Greek goddess Eiréné, the embodiment of peace, inner tranquility, and balance. She reminds us that true strength does not come from fighting but from certainty, silence, and staying true to yourself. Prokić connects this idea with the motif of the iris - a flower symbolizing quiet pride, courage, and the ability to stand firm in your truth. The featured item, the Iris Grand necklace, is the first such piece produced in a gold-plated version. It is composed of eleven striking flowers, each of which is individually hand-sculpted and finished. The number eleven symbolizes a new beginning - the moment when you decide to open the door to your own world and step into a new chapter of life. A piece from this collection is thus a personal talisman, a reminder of the journey into your inner self and the courage to heed the voice of your intuition.
