The auction Karel Tě&scaron;&iacute;nsk&yacute; &ndash; From the Artist&rsquo;s Estate (Mlad&aacute; Boleslav 1926 &ndash; Prague 2005), taking place from 21 September to 5 October 2026, will offer a total of 192 works by the artist.
The selection comprises oil paintings, drawings and an extensive collection of monotypes, with a particular focus on works from the 1960s and 1970s. It was during these decades that the artist&rsquo;s distinctive painterly style came fully into its own, characterised by his treatment of colour, texture and simplified forms, as well as his ability to transform impressions of the world around him into autonomous pictorial compositions.
Among the most significant works from the 1960s are Composition from 1965 (Lot 16) and Composition from 1961 (Lot 32). Also noteworthy are a number of oil paintings from the following decade, particularly Pond (Lot 18), Pond between Fields (Lot 24), South Bohemian Landscape (Lot 25), and Landscape from 1973 (Lot 26), which was reproduced on the cover of the artist&rsquo;s monograph.
The auction also offers the option of an Early Bid, allowing bidders who place their auction limit in time to benefit from a reduced buyer&rsquo;s premium of 20% instead of the standard 25%. To qualify for the Early Bid, your winning limit must be placed by 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, 23 September.
The pre-auction exhibition will take place from 21 September to 5 October at Galerie Kroupa, <a href="https://www.google.com/maps/search/Vor%C5%A1ilsk%C3%A1+139%2F5,+Praha+1?entry=gmail&amp;source=g" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vor&scaron;ilsk&aacute; 139/5, Praha 1</a>&nbsp;(corner of N&aacute;rodn&iacute; and Vor&scaron;ilsk&aacute; streets). The exhibition is open Monday to Saturday, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. The gallery will be closed on the public holiday of 28 September.
Guided tours will take place on Wednesdays, 23 and 30 September, at 6 p.m.
