Dear Bidders, Talented Artists and Generous Partners,
Thank you for taking part in this year&rsquo;s charity auction, the proceeds of which will help more children return to safe schools. The funds raised through the auction will be used by the Happy Hearts Czech Foundation to rebuild and construct schools in areas affected by natural disasters. A significant portion of this year&rsquo;s proceeds will support relief and recovery efforts in Nepal, which has been devastated by severe flooding.
The Happy Hearts Czech Foundation supports children and communities around the world in places where natural disasters have disrupted education and deprived children of a safe environment in which to learn. Rebuilding schools provides long-term, sustainable support that benefits not only the children themselves, but also their families and entire communities.
Nepal holds a very special place in the story of Happy Hearts. We have been working there for many years to restore access to safe education and, together with our partners, have already built 32 schools serving approximately 6,000 children. In the wake of this year&rsquo;s devastating floods, we want to be there once again where children need us most &ndash; not only in the immediate aftermath of the disaster, but throughout the long road to recovery, which will take years.
Alongside our school-building projects, we also run the Future Leaders programme, through which we encourage children and young people in the Czech Republic to embrace philanthropy, solidarity and civic responsibility. We believe that meaningful change comes from combining tangible assistance with educating a new generation for whom helping others is a natural part of life.
Over more than 20 years of our work, together with our partners we have helped build more than 380 schools in 17 countries around the world, providing safe access to education and renewed hope for more than 124,000 children.
Yet thousands of children are still waiting for a safe school of their own. Thanks to you, we can move one step closer to helping them return to the classroom.
