The vase Tomorrow on Mars by Milan Knížák, donated by SIN Gallery, represents a unique fusion of contemporary art, design, and glassmaking craftsmanship.

Milan Knížák was one of the most prominent figures in Czech and international art. Throughout his career, his work has consistently crossed the boundaries between fine art, objects, design, and experimentation.
His distinctive ability to transform familiar forms into carriers of new meanings has resulted in works that oscillate between beauty, playfulness, and deeper existential expression.

The vase was created using the Vitrum Vivum technique, a unique method of cast glass sculpture developed in collaboration with Jiří Šín. Here, glass is not merely a material but a medium of light. It captures its transformations, reflections, and energy, becoming a symbol of vitality, imagination, and human creativity. Light was one of the recurring motifs throughout Knížák’s work – not as a decorative effect, but as a principle of life, freedom, and transformation.

In the context of the Happy Hearts auction, this motif takes on an additional meaning: light as a symbol of hope, solidarity, and the willingness to help others.
