The painting is accompanied by a photograph taken by the artist in 1932, depicting the Rössler family residence in France, with the artist’s wife and daughter leaning out of an attic window. One floor below them is the very window depicted in the painting. The work comes from the artist’s estate. The reverse of the painting bears a confirmation of authenticity by the artist’s daughter. The work is reproduced in the book Jaroslav Rössler: Drawings and Paintings (Kant, Prague 2012, p. 70).
