The iconic Kelly line was introduced in the 1930s under the direction of Hermès’ then artistic director, Robert Dumas, as a modern and innovative interpretation of the women’s handbag. The model acquired its now-legendary name only in the late 1950s, when it became indelibly associated with Princess Grace of Monaco. Famously photographed using the bag to discreetly conceal the first signs of pregnancy, she propelled the design onto the world stage, transforming it into a symbol of timeless luxury and feminine refinement.
