Original Monaco Grand Prix poster

The original poster for the 14th Monaco Grand Prix, held on 13 May 1956, represents an iconic work by the French painter and illustrator Jacques Ramel. The artist, who created a number of posters and graphic works inspired by the landscape of southern France and the Côte d’Azur, succeeded in this monumental piece in combining the dynamism of racing cars with the characteristic atmosphere of Monaco. This large-format poster is among the most sought-after examples of post-war motoring design and appears on the market only very rarely, with originals of this type held in the collections of the world’s most prestigious museums. The work has been professionally restored and mounted on linen, ensuring its long-term stability. The poster comes from the collection of Thomas Marten, who owns one of the largest holdings of such graphic artefacts in Europe, accompanied by his expert certificate.
