TAG Heuer developed the square-shaped Monaco model in 1969, and just two years later it gained worldwide fame when Steve McQueen wore it in the film Le Mans in 1971. Since then, this model has become both a fashion statement and a collector’s icon. The present example comes from a limited edition of 1,000 pieces, each individually numbered and engraved “One of 1000.” Inside the stainless-steel case ticks the reliable in-house Calibre Heuer 02, composed of 168 components including a column wheel, vertical clutch, and an impressive 80-hour power reserve. For this edition, the specially styled red-and-white dial is adorned with a racing car logo at the 1 o’clock position – a subtle reference to the famous historic Formula race. The watch is offered with its original exclusive box featuring a chequered finish-line flag motif. This Monaco is not merely an instrument for measuring time, but a symbol of passion, tradition, and precise engineering.
