Adam Jílek’s work focuses on animal subjects to which he lends human characteristics— often with a satirical undertone. The expressions and gazes of the animals become carriers of emotion and narrative. His paintings are dominated by white, a colour symbolizing purity, calm, and at times, emptiness.
His work is represented in numerous private collections in the Czech Republic and abroad. In 2019, he was named in Forbes’ “30 under 30” list.
Adam graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, where he studied classical painting and restoration. He soon developed a distinctive artistic style and visual language and today ranks among the prominent voices of the young generation of Czech artists.
