Martin Salajka, a native of Slovácko and a graduate of Michael Rittstein's studio at the Academy of Fine Arts, creates expressive paintings with intense colours and symbolic meanings. He has exhibited in many prestigious institutions, and his works are sought-after by contemporary art collectors. Of the hammer price, 90% will be donated to the non-profit organisation Save-Elephants.
Eight leading visual artists have created a unique collection of paintings inspired by an expedition to Congo, which took place in September 2024 under the auspices of Save-Elephants. The proceeds from these artworks will help develop the educational activities of this Czech non-profit organisation. The works will be presented at the pre-sale exhibition on 3-21 March in the National Theatre's Utility Building B (not in the KODL Gallery).
Thank you to the National Theatre for their cooperation in the exhibition and for providing the exhibition space.
