Jan Vytiska, a graduate of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Music at the University of Ostrava (Jiří Surůvka's New Media Studio), developed a pop-surrealist approach to painting with elements of horror and folklore. He won the Art Prague Young Award (2011), was a finalist for the Critics' Award for Young Painting (2012), and his works are part of numerous contemporary art collections. Of the hammer price, 90% will be donated to the non-profit organisation Save-Elephants.
Eight leading visual artists have created a unique collection of paintings inspired by an expedition to Congo, which took place in September 2024 under the auspices of Save-Elephants. The proceeds from these artworks will help develop the educational activities of this Czech non-profit organisation. The works will be presented at the pre-sale exhibition on 3-21 March in the National Theatre's Utility Building B (not in the KODL Gallery).
Thank you to the National Theatre for their cooperation in the exhibition and for providing the exhibition space.
