The 1036 copies of this book were published by Meda Mládková’s Editions Sokolova as Toyen’s first monograph in 1953, of which the first copy was printed on Japanese handmade Imperial paper and contained the original drypoint No. 1 by Toyen. Another 35 copies were printed on handmade paper and contained a signed and numbered etching by Toyen No. 2–36, and the remaining 1,000 copies were printed on plain paper with no original graphic attached. The auctioned item is copy No. 33 and contains a signed etching by Toyen No. 33/36, has 104 pages, one colour reproduction on the frontispiece and 40 black and white full-page reproductions. The cover was designed by Guy Doumayrou, the authors of the texts are André Breton, Jindřich Heisler, and Benjamin Péret. The book is signed by André Breton, Benjamin Péret, and Toyen. The condition of the book corresponds to its age.
